Our Final Days in North Carolina...and the Road Trip

The last few weeks have been pretty crazy. Both of our parents came out to visit for my graduation. After graduation, we packed up the truck and drove across the country one more time. Lindsay's parents drove with us, which was a huge help. It was also really fun for the kids to get to spend a few days playing with grandpa and grandma. We're finally moved into our new place and just about settled in, we're still missing a few key pieces of furniture (like a couch), but we're getting there. I've started my bar prep course, as well as my new job; this is shaping up to be the busiest summer we've ever had, but if we can make it through July, I think we'll be okay.
Grandpa Mills got Blake a basketball and he takes it everywhere
The kids didn't mind all the moving boxes in the house
We finally made it to a Bulls game before leaving town

Gotta Love 'Em

I took my last exam of law school yesterday. I'm done with school. Forever. Well, at least I think so. So today I spent the whole day at home and Lindsay and I started packing the house for our big move. The kids pretty much drove us crazy unpacking everything we packed. But, mostly, I realized how much I've missed them during the last couple of weeks while I've been putting in extra hours studying in the library. Thankfully, Lindsay's been taking pictures of all the fun I've been missing.

Such a sweet boy. He loves taking care of that baby.

Playing in the bubble wrap. How could they resist?

He loves all things pudding.

Popsicle time. Best time of the day.

Brainless Brian

On Tuesday I had a couple of final exams, and after I got home from school, I was in a little bit of hot water. You see, Wicked is currently playing at the Durham Performing Arts Center, and I had been instructed on numerous occasions that every night until we won tickets, Lindsay and I would be going to the ticket lottery. As it turns out, Tuesday was such a day, and I forgot. Lindsay was incredulous that I could forget something we had talked about so many times. I tried to explain that although I'm actually a pretty decent listener, I'm a really bad remember-er (I know that's not a word, just work with me here). Fast forward to yesterday (Friday). We had just spent a pretty late night hanging out with some friends, and we all slept in a bit. Lindsay was in a hurry to get to work, and since we only have one car, she needed to drop me off at school before she went in. We grabbed everything we needed and ran out to the car. On the drive to school I was finishing getting ready, putting in my contact lenses, putting on my belt, when it hit me. I forgot my shoes. That's right kids, the bad remember-er forgot his own darn shoes. So I walked around the school in socks all day, and got a few funny looks, but in the end it might have been worth it since it proved to Lindsay, that yes, sometimes I really am, Brainless Brian.

After making this post, I got all excited about Garbage Pail Kids, here are a couple more Brians
